FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND FINANCE |

The Faculty of Economics and Finance is one of nine faculties at the University of Bialystok. It was established in 1968 as a college, and in 1997 was granted a university status. Approximately 1500 students study at the Faculty. It conducts PhD studies in economics and a postdoctoral degree as well. A monumental building called “Mr Trębicki’s house” has been the location of the Faculty from the beginning of its existence. Built in the first half of the XIX century was originally a residential building of landowners and industrialists. Later, rebuilt and enlarged was donated for educational purposes. |

Bialystok, with nearly 300 000 inhabitants, is the biggest city of north-eastern Poland, playing a role of administrative, scientific, economic, and cultural centre of this region. Bialystok is a lovely city with many sightseeing possibilities and a great place for living and studying. Theatres, the opera, clubs, restaurants, cinemas and shopping centres offer a great range of entertainment. The city is equipped with a public bikes system and a dense network of bicycle paths. “Green Velo”, the longest bike trail in Poland, goes through the city as well. Podlasie region, with its capital – Bialystok - is called "The Green Lungs of Poland". It is a beautiful place with many national parks, open-air museums, idyllic villages and towns. Bialystok has been ranked number 1 as the best Polish city to live in according to the Eurobarometer survey on the “Perception of Quality of Life in European Cities”, 2016. |
